Best Books for Entrepreneurs and Business Owners

by Editorial Team September 14, 2019

Starting and running a business is never easy. However, if you search for help, you’ll discover tips and advice that can keep you ahead always. Today, thousands of great business books are available to help you kick-start your business, set and achieve your goals, promote your business, manage your finances, and much more. In fact, there are too many business books that it can be difficult to settle on a good one worth reading.

I am going to reveal in this article, inspiring and thought-provoking books that provides entrepreneurs and business owners with advice, tips, and resources to achieve success.

  1. Winning Through Intimidation by Robert Ringer
The book is as straightforward as the title. There’s a person who has the upper hand in every transaction. Honest folks don’t like to accept it, but the passive-aggressive types recognize this and use it to full effect. One of the best sales books out there. Worth a read.
  2. Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable by Seth Godin
Nothing will grab your attention in a typical farmyard setting quite like a purple cow will. In Seth Godin’s new book Purple Cow, he reveals secrets to successful marketing strategies that will separate you from the rest -be different, be exciting, generate interest and be remembered. Run-of-the-mill tactics are now boring and leave your business weak and unknown. You are going to make people do a double take if you want to be remarkable and get ahead of competitors.
  3. You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth by Jen Sincero
This book by Jen Sincero argues for the concept of wealth beginning with your mindset. In this book, Jen combines personal narratives that will make you laugh with concepts that will get you thinking, and transform your earning potential. Jen channels the sass and wit from her first bestseller ‘You Are a Badass’, to help readers identify and overcome limiting beliefs with money in this new money
  4. Work the System by Sam Carpenter
This book addresses a burning question that many company people ask daily “What system, if set in motion would prevent this problem from ever happening in the first place?” Sam Carpenter insists the universe is working correctly almost all the time, so disappointing results always stem from a fixable systemic input. An empowering and immensely practical read.
  5. How Successful People Think: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life by John C. Maxwell
The most succesful people in the world have one thing common to them; and that is, they think differently from other people. John C Maxwell in How Successful People Think reveals specific ways of thinking you can adopt to change how you live that will lead you to a more happier and successful life. The book treats thinking as a discipline, you can master it if you can keep developing your skills.
  6. The Star Principle by Richard Koch
One of the greatest businessmen of our time, Richard Koch delivers the elegant formula he used to grow his fortune from about $4 million to more than $400 million within 25 years. This is probably the most under-rated book on this list. Richard’s book is a formula for scoring your business.
  7. The New One Minute Manager by Kenneth Blanchard and Spencer Johnson M.D
For many years, people who have read the One Minute Manager have confessed of the amazing success the book has helped them achieve in their professional and personal lives. The book is a classic parable of a young man looking for an effective manager and it lays out principles that are timeless and is helping readers succeed even in today’s fast paced world.

How to Start a Successful Blog in 2019

by Editorial Team September 6, 2019

If you’re looking for an easy step-by-step guide on how to start a blog, then you’ve come to the right place. I will teach you 5 easy steps that you can use to start your blog in less than an hour.

How to start a blog in 4 simple steps:

  1. Choose your domain name and host.
  2.  Design your blog using a theme.
  3. Modify your selected theme and add plugins
  4. Write compelling content and promote your blog.

Step 1: Choose your domain name and host.

The first step to starting a blog is to find a good name. Finding a good blog name comes from choosing your topic. It could be based on your Hobbies & passions, life experiences or based on the niche you’ll like to blog on. Once you have your name, the next step is to choose a domain extension for your blog. The most popular one is a .com extension, but if your name with this extension is taken, you can try other good ones like .net or .org as well.

I personally use SiteGround as a host for my blog based on following reasons:

  • Officially recommended by WordPress.org
  • One of the best hosting support
  • Awesome client interfaces
  • Fully managed service
Disclosure: This blog is hosted by SiteGround and I would never recommend something to you that I don’t personally use or like. When you purchase hosting using my Affiliate Link, you will  get a special discounted price and I will earn revenue at no additional cost to you.

Once you click the banner above or my Affiliate Link you will be redirected to the SiteGround website. Where you will select a package that best suits you. I would recommend to select the “StartUp” package if you are new to blogging and starting fresh.

Once you select the package you will be able to register/transfer a domain name. You will then be asked to register using your personal information and to make a payment for your selected package. After making the payment you will have to make sure to select WordPress install and register your domain login on WordPress. Remember you can always contact SiteGround support team for instant help.

Step 2: Design your blog using a theme.

The next stage of your blogging journey is to design your blog theme. A good theme will give your blog the look and feel you want. WordPress makes everything easy. You don’t have to be a coder to design your theme. Head on over to the section of your WordPress dashboard to browse through the collection of themes, and find a design that’s best for you. I am running a premium theme called “Soledad”.

Step 3: Modify your selected theme and add plugins.

Having set up your domain, blog hosting, installed WordPress and set up the theme, you have now created your blog, next is to add Feed-burner to your blog so readers and visitors can subscribe to your site through email and RSS subscriptions. Follow that by setting up your Google Analytics to track stats.

You don’t need to use heavy or complex plugins on your site. At least not for now. You can start with “Google Analytics for WordPress” and “Yoast SEO”. They take just a couple of seconds to install.

Step 4: Write compelling content and promote your blog.

One of the actions that assure of your success as a blogger is to post great content. Have a good About Page, Contact Page, etc. Then begin to write high-quality blog posts and publish them regularly (I recommend once or twice weekly). You can accompany your posts with images from sites like Pixabay, Unsplash, and Pexels.

Now you have created a well-designed blog and written great content on it, you’ll want to make sure your blog is known and receiving visitors or else you can’t be successful. To get readers for your blog, you’ll need to start promoting it.

One of the best ways to do this is to post links on social media like Facebook and Twitter. Your friends can see the link, and if they like your content, they can share the link with their friends boosting your reach further. Another way is to share your posts and links to public online forums. When people read up the amazing content you’ve shared on these forums, they will like to read more, so post a link to your blog for more reading.

Your blog is not going to be successful if your readers aren’t returning. To keep readers coming back, you need to engage in email marketing. You can collect the emails of your visitors and continue to notify them of new posts (however, you have to do this with permission).

Starting a successful blog in 2019 is not as difficult as it seems. The steps outlined here should get you started, but as you venture on in your blogging career, you will learn and implement more advanced tactics for blog promotion and monetization.
